My favorite part of the holiday season is getting together with the family, sitting by the fire, and reading. The difference between a Haiku and a Limerick is that a Limerick is a five lined poem and a Haiku is a three lined 17 syllable poem. Also in a Limerick you have to have rhyming words and a Haiku doesn't need to rhyme.

I wrote a Haiku that I like so here it is.

Spring

The birds are chirpping
Winter is now behind us
Spring is in the air

My favorite part of the holiday season is definately the day after Christmas because we get to use everything we got for Chritmas and my family normally does some weird family outting. Were we go to some realy random place like a restaurant or the beach and just hang out and play for a while. First, a limerick is a poem that is humorous and rhyming. A haiku is a very short four or five lines poem with 17 syllables.
A great Haiku I found is
"Hot June day

an otter

slips into the sea"

My favorite part about the Holiday season is spending time with my family I don't get to see that much. I love opening presents and watching family and friends open the presents I got them.

The difference between a haiku and a limerick is that a limerick is a 5 line humorous poem and a haiku is a poem with 2 pairs of lines on however many sets of 2. Also haikus aren't usually humorous, but they can be.

EXAMPLE OF HAIKU:

As the wind does blow

Across the trees, I see the

Buds blooming in May

I walk across sand
And find myself blistering

In the hot, hot heat

Falling to the ground,

I watch a leaf settle down

In a bed of brown.

It’s cold—and I wait

For someone to shelter me

And take me from here.

I hear crackling

Crunch, of today’s new found day

And know it won’t last
So I will leave it

At bay; and hope for the best

This bitter new day

My favorite part of the holiday season is when you get to be with your family and then open your presents! What I also like about the holiday season is when you can go to the mountains and have fun in the snow. The difference between a Limerick and a Haiku is that a Limerick has 5 lines or more, has to rhyme, and can be humorous. A Haiku is supposed to have 17 syllables with five in the first line, seven in the second, and five in the third. Haiku also has to relate to nature. Ex.

Suddenly, the village
